I can’t remember off hand where I discovered Caroline Herring but I am so glad I did. A disciple of Gillian Welch and that ilk, her pastoral characters are tragic and sanguine, her voice clear and distanced as if she was narrating an Erskine Caldwell novel brought to life.
Needless to say I love her.
In light of our Indian Summer here, the next few posts are songs that bring summer a soft landing as we descent into fall.
